Last words embody that which the speaker considers the
most important statements to communicate and to leave as a lasting impression.
Over the next four weeks we are delving into a series
called “Famous Last Words”, exploring the last words
Jesus left on His journey to the cross and then to His ascension.
On the
14th Feb Emile Hoods will bring a message called “Final Instructions”, which looks at Jesus’ final instructions
to those closest to Him who were charged with carrying His legacy, His
disciples.
On the 21st Feb we will be looking at Jesus’ final
recorded prayer with His disciples – what were the things most important to Jesus as He prayed amongst His friends on
the road to the cross?
On the 28th Feb we will be taking a look at the truly
famous last words of Jesus – His words spoken and recorded as His life ebbed away on the cross. Words that have brought
hope to multitudes in the centuries that have followed.
And finally,
on the 7th March we will be taking a look at Jesus’ final statements before ascending to heaven, words that
tell of something even greater to follow.
So buckle down and get ready to ride to the heart of the gospels.
